A bit of a day van project then? I'm planning on something similar with my work van when I replace it with a newer van the end of this year as Libby will be starting with a motorcycle display team which means sitting around all day on practice days, transporting her bike around, etc etc

And I also used to do the PVA glue of the hand thing at school as well

Will do.

Today was meant to be the day I sound deadened it using a some Flashband. It's a roofing material made from bitumen or lead or summat. But applied to van panels stops the resonance dramatically. Unfortunately Toolstation had sold out and all other suppliers were vastly more expensive!! £16 for a 10mx225mm roll in TS vs £32 for a 10mx300mm roll in B&Q/wickes!!

Im going to give TS a go in Milton Keynes and hopefully get the job done on saturday.

Just ordered the carpeting from mega van mats should arrive monday. I wanted to get it done professionally but between an eye watering £625 and Kerri proclaiming she'd like to give it a go as she feels she'd do a good job then £150 worth of carpet was duly ordered.
Need to get on the insulation over the weekend too.

At some point I need to book the van in to have it's windows done. It will just be the two sides for now but later I will also put 2 on the rear doors. I was going to give the rear door a go myself but the glass is £150 but I've had a couple of quotes of £200 to supply and fit so for £50 I'd rather let someone else give it a bash.

On the other side of the van the engine management light came on yesterday. Van is driving perfectly well so im not panicing just yet. One of my mates has VAGCOM so I'm popping round there tonight to get it plugged in and see whats up.

No more pics as nowts really happened and it's hammering it down here!

Saturday I started damping the van slightly using flashband. I also bought a wooden roller to really push it down and flatten it onto the panels.
Started with the rear doors and worked my way forward.

I actually added another strip in the middle of the these strips as I felt it wasn't doing as much as I'd hoped. A difference but not substantial in all honesty. But I assume that once insulated and carpeted the panels it will all come together. Every little helps I guess.

Sides

And finally the floor

I also did the roof but it was very early in the morning and baby started crying so no pics of that. Essentially 2 15cm wide strips the width of the van per panel.

Managed to get the van ECU scanned which showed a fault on glow plug 3 so 4 new glow plugs ordered and will be fitted asap.

That's all folks.

Cheapskate !!! Dynomat is what you want, I once did the whole of my interior in this when I had 12 inch eminence subs, my panels and everything used to resonate terrible, dynomat stopped it

the carpeting is super easy buddy, if it's the megastretch stuff then it's great, really pliable and easy to form, just make sure you allow about 20-30 seconds for the spray glue to cure before pushing the carpet on
