The guy should've just let it go in the first place but I think almost getting taken out by a reversing piece of crap is hardly well deserved or "asking for it".

That's the thing people always forget. When someone does something, usually it's an accident, but people like to assume the worst and that they won't learn and don't care. A lot of people will learn when they almost take you out, and check for bikes more next time, and feel genuinely bad for doing it. They don't deserve abuse.

People who escalate it by harassing the driver are just contributing to the problem, increasing dislike of bikers, spreading hate, and generally just being utter dicktards.

Yeah, that reaction was just as bad as him trying to open the door, if not worse, but he caused it to happen by following the car and trying to open the door. So he is directly responsible for everything he got, and deserves it in that sense. Ya know, if a random dog chews my throat out because I kick it up the ****, I don't deserve that but I sure as hell brought it on myself.

Biker decides to take off cars wing mirror first (1:58 where vid has been edited presumably by rider), think he was probably going to assault the driver/passenger too. Agree that all parties involved resemble a phallus

It only takes one mistake to put someone in hospital or even kill them.. Maybe that's why? Especially being on a bike where the consequences of accidents are much more serious than in a car.

the only time the horns come out with me is if they deliberately put me in a life threatening situation then 'no mercy' and someone is going for a ride in a memo be it them or me. if it was a mistake on their part but no one was hurt then fine have a nice day but be more careful in future. we all make mistakes and it's nice to apologise which i always do if it's my fault.
Where do texting/inattentive wallies come into that?

Yeah, I wish. I did manage to get one of them texters with Baron Von Grumble's method. Tapped on their window and said something had fallen of the back of their car. Sure enough, look of horror they hadn't and turned round to go have a look for it.

Well since he was continually chasing the car I'd imagine the driver decided to remove his ability to continue on the grounds that anyone chasing that long probably wants to smash your face in.

I'd have been tempted to do something similar.

yep, i used to get really wound up about this but i see so many on my commute i just ignore it, give them a wide berth and get on with the ride.

if someone is playing with their phone and makes a mistake that threatens me then they get some agricultural language and the finger

picking a fight like the guy in the video did is always a risk. sooner or later you'll be arguing with a nutcase who doesn't give a monkey's and will do that to you.
