private road / tarmac strip of course.
of course, do not speed on the road that would be illegal. |

Another garage have said no and quoted British Standards. Might go down the new tyre route.

How many miles has the tyre done? Where is the puncture? If it's a newish tyre and the puncture is in the center quarter just take it to someone who will fix it up with a mushroom type repair...my last rear was fixed after less than 500 miles use and was good for another 5000...
What garage is quoting british standards? If you are pushing for guarantees no-one will agree...the call should be yours, it's a tyre repair, they're done all the time

The tyre has done about 3000 miles. I will try and get a snap of the nail. Tyre has not deflated or showing any signs of pressure loss at the moment.

3000 is quite a bit, maybe that's why they're reluctant more than anything else....what's the typical mileage you see from it?

I agree, mine was very similar too. The repair would be in the tread groove so I see no reason why you can't go for a repair! It's squared off a bit but I assume with wear like that over 3000 miles you have quite a bit more than 3000 miles left...
I suppose the same people who are saying no to the repair will fit you a nice new tyre if you went for one aye.....get it repaired and ignore the barstewards who want to fleece you!!
