With switch gear, I extended the loom by six inches. Each wire was done in turn and I took my time. Each joint was soldered, wrapped in heat shrink and then wrapped in insulation tape and finally the whole lot was covered with a plastic tube. It has never let me down and has stayed dry in the worst weather.

My brake lines were custom made from my local bike shop. I also did the same with throttle cables. Go to your local real bike workshop, not the place with the funky show room and no mechanic.

It is possible to keep the fairing and fit high bars, the change is remarkable and well worth the effort.
