So what I was thinking from the get go:

PR4's now use your money right if theres life left in the ones you have use them up

Exhausts if still standard on purchase most certainly
Do I need a power commander? I'm sure I read that the ECU was open enough to tuning. PC or yoshi box are the tunning methods most used
Double Bubble essential
Some GBMoto rear sets good call
Uprated rear shock again good call
Linear springs and new fork oil up front like i said the forks are good but oil and setup are advised
Brake rebuild its genrally a good idea to make sure it stops lol
Heated grips look at dl1000 hand guards too for proper comfort
Maybe a paint job if I go for one of those there SZ's
if you do go sz get second hand tank and plastics even with a paint job you'll probably get your money back and a bit selling them on as there rare as rocking horse ****

GPR damper if your putting cash into it / power comander and get it set up for your chosen zausts / decent rear shock / double bubble screen is a must / decent rubber personally im an avon storm man for all weather riding / and the clutch adjustment is done by a guy on the SV Portal forum

any more Q's feel free to give me a shout
I hear there is a cheap SZ going around Preston, that right Dave?

Had my K4 Thou' since Jan 2010 now and never had any issues with her, well, except some old geezer in the rain. Meant my original forks were bent to buggery and gave me a chance to improve (IMO) the Thou'.

I always found the brakes a bit lacklustre on the Thou' (maybe I was riding too fast,) but, having fitted GSXR 750 K6/7 forks with GSXR 600 K6/7 brakes (They were the models the items came from, but, I am pretty sure they are the same on both models for both years.)

Since then she stops on a dime and is a lot more manageable in corners IMO.

There is a progression theme in the album I have on here for her; http://forums.sv650.org/album.php?albumid=549

One thing I'd say is never have Bridgestones on her, they were the crappest tyres I've ever had. 2CT Roads are tops for the Thou'

Haha, I'm assuming Mr Preston is selling an SZ then? Give me a PM with details if that's the case as I'm back up t'north for a weekend and a few days, midway through December, so wouldn't mind having a nosey if the price is right

No, Dave's got stolen, hence it being cheap

I never got round to fitting the gixxer 750K5 front end on mine. It's still sitting in the garage ready to go. I've always got on very well with the stock suspension but had the rear shock rebuilt by KAIS last winter after 24 thousand miles and 24 track days. It's now done 29 trackdays and still feels good on track for such a heavy bike. I'm pretty sure all k5 + ( black framed ) bikes got all the engine and induction mods. Brakes are ace if you use braided lines and EBC HH pads with fresh fluid every year. Only problems I've had to sort is a blown rear collector gasket, took out the swing arm end float and poor ground clearence ( Gilles ). I currently got 10's weight oil in forks but this is a bit harsh for me on the road so I have them backed right off, but great for track.

I can link you to a few vids if you want to see how it handles on track on stock suspension. Been using Pilot Power 2CT's since 2007, but just changed to Power 3's which seem better all round.

I keep promising myself I'll fit it, but the stock front works so well. I've got the lot. Forks, brakes, yokes with a full set of taper rollers, mudguard and TLS bars.

Here... Have a bit of SV action instead and some more, Keep the stock suspension and spend the dosh on more horses mate.

Thanks for the videos! Is it spring yet?
That's a sweet looking track. What's it cost to do a track day there on the cheap?

Spend the dish on tires and track time, that's the biggest payoff.

Both Donington Park and Oulton Park are quite pricey. The Oulton vid was in October this year and was about £70 I think. Summer weekends at Oulton can cost £170 to £190 so we tend to do Oulton in March and November. Donington was in early April this year and about £85. Donington is a must if you are ever able to get across to do some.
