I have been commuting every day for over a year, but just 10 miles each way - mostly country roads. It was great. Now I do occasionaly ride to central London (35 miles each way) and I can feel the seat
But other than that - great, quick enough for open roads, nimble enough for city traffic, naked's sitting position helps seeing what is coming in the town.
No problems whatsoever with servicing/intervals (I do most of simple stuff myself), I never installed scottoiler - I just oil the chain every second fuelling. Economy - see below.

I commute everyday about 7-8 miles each way. Depending on traffic it takes me between 15-25 minutes and for me it's very comfortable in both rain and shine (ok gear).

The first few times I rode the SV I had issues with the seat and wrist, but once I got used to the riding position etc. it hasn't been an issue.

I notice it being a bit uncomfortable after about 1.5 h constant riding.
