What I may do is just ring them up and haggle a bit anyway. I do love to haggle for everything. The SV is going back on the road this year at some point, even though the GS will be the main bike as my reason for SORNing the SV is still an issue (sore heel, still not better).
As for special deals for new customers, I love to ask the person at the call centre if they have the up to date figures for the churn rates at their company and if they are better or worse than the UK average (22%) and what their specific guidelines are to ensure that they personally achieve the highest levels of customer retention in an overcrowded market. At which point they usually offer a discount or start to cry quietly.

I wish my insurance was less than £90 ...i found that the multibike policy was very close to the 2 separate bike policies. I also found it didnt not cost much to add a second bike to an existing policy after it ran for a few months.
I mean how many bikes can one ride at one time ? ![]()

I consider paying a couple of hundred quid for two bikes fairly cheap. Bearing in mind where I live, and one of them would likely be written off if it so much as broke an indicator pod. They're 400 quid new and like hens teeth second hand, as are most parts. I don't think its bad at all
I've pretty much got maximum no claims. Ten years is rather a lot! Mr Pegasus has just renewed his insurance for the big beast. The ZX14 forum are spitting feathers as none of them can get theirs insured for less than £250. IIRC hes just got his insured for less than 200 quid, with all the bells and whistles included in his premium, fully comp ![]() We concern ourselves more with the car insurance. Finally after four years I'm not classed as a new driver anymore ![]()

Yes it is cheaper, but if I can get it down even more I will. It helps that we live in what is considered a safe area and the place I am most likely to leave it parked away from home is at work. Bike thieves will have to get past big grumpy Dougie the gateman before they can get to my bike, and frankly, some days our CEO struggles to get past him when he's in a jobsworth mood.

As I've had the drz 4 years now I've built up 4 years ncb on that too so I can be choosy. Brum ain't a cheap city to insure anything, I live in a decent area too, but I pay more than some guys 10 years younger with less ncb, they just live in different parts of the country. |

Might depend on the bike. With 4 years ncb for the vfr and the gsxr it was about 350. Gsxr on its own with no ncb was 500!

I have to say I have found e-bike works very well for me. I've quite a few bikes in the garage and their policy allows me to insure up to four at a time, and I can change the list instantly online without any cost if I want to ride one of the bikes that isn't currently covered. My "biggest" road bike in terms of cc is actually my SV 650 and several of them are quite heavily modified but I'm still paying under £200 TPFT.
The downside I guess is that if the garage were to go up in flames or some scumbag actually managed to get past my security then I'd only get paid out on the four that were insured at the time, but then the most valuable bike in there is my track bike and I can't insure that anyhow! Oh, and with e-bike you don't get a third party extension to ride your mates bikes if that's important to you. |

I used to be with ebike but having no phone number drove me mad. Third party not an issue as unless it's a lowered bike I probably could not ride it anyway.
