It really was that colour and fast asleep on that leaf when I found it. I saw several of them in the region, but this is the only one I managed to get a picture of. One of the others that I really wanted to get a picture of was about four inches long and bright red, however I could not get close enough to get a good picture.

The big toad was easy to find because we followed the noise of its calls and it was so loud, it also had no fear of us and pretty much ignored us as we took its photo. The Banded bull frog that we found in our hut was a lovely and would just crawl in, settle in the corner and go to sleep.

We also spent some time on Ko Phra Thong and saw one Hornbill and lots of Hermit crabs, one of whom nipped me because I annoyed it! Swimming on the reef was like a scene from Finding Nemo and absolutely beautiful.

I have come to the conclusion that I am one of those increasingly mental old ladies who likes animals more than people!

Default Creatures of Thailand

Last ones from me (unfortunately whiptails, crested lizards and cashew nuts didn't come out), but here are a couple of huntsman spiders:

They are exquisite, lovely animals and lightning fast when startled. The top photo really shows how large the mandibles are, I bet that she has some bite on her. I love spiders and these two are beautiful, the second one looks like she is carrying an egg sack with her, I saw one preparing and then laying her eggs, but she was right up in the rafters of our hut so I could not get a good look.

Thank you for sharing.

Not got any good pictures but just remembered when we went to Koh Samui we did the boat trip to Ang Tong Marine Park (the place that is the real location for the Beach in the book) and we saw a pink dolphin. Didn't even know they existed until then.
