The supercorsa's are a good price too so il probably give them a go. ive found a full fairing kit for around £200 im quite happy to pay for that.
one thing im struggling to find any info on is Insurance? can you insure Track bikes from garage theft? obviously i understand that they wouldn't cover you for time on the track etc..

Sure they do theft only insurance, might be cheaper to just insure it though!

I had a look at that but will they need to see MOT certificates or anything ? i know they do for road tax etc.

TPFT was £175 for the year though so that's good.

The reason insurance companies don't like insuring "track bikes" is because of the lack of an audit trail. With no registration, MOT and VEL history it's all to easy for people who have crashed their bike to claim it's been stolen and then use the payout to put it all back together as a "new" bike. If it's a track bike then it generally follows that you don't keep it on the road outside your house but in a garage or shed? Put it on a paddock stand and take the back wheel out if you're worried about some scrote pushing it away in the middle of the night.

The 675 is a very capable track bike. If you look at many of the 600 classes of thundersports and MRO you will see a lot of them in there. When it comes to weight saving I'd worry about that a little later on. All you need for a good track day is tools, chairs, kettle, tea, coffee milk and a bit of food. Don't forget paddock stands, tyre warmers, and a few little spares, levers, rear sets, just incase, You just never know.

Most of all just go out and enjoy a day at the track.

Before I forget as mentioned get your suspension sorted out. Best person If you get to a track where Colin from 100% is. Worked with him last season and he knows plenty about how a bike works and how you want it to work.

I don't think that's true - you "need" tyre warmers? I never used tyre warmers in 10 years of doing track days - OK, I wasn't leading the fast group round but I never had a problem keeping up once tyres were warmed. Chairs - (what's wrong with the floor/a bench/the car/van you came in if that's the way you got there?), kettle - take a bottle of water or two or just buy some if needs be (yes that costs more, but...).

I suppose I'm just reflecting on the advice I got when I started out - turned out all I actually needed was me bike, riding gear, some means of getting it to the track (including riding it there which I did for a couple of years), knowledge of where to get fuel, and some cash. The rest is optional, especially when starting with a perfectly able bike as standard (such as the 675).

I do agree some of them are good options that make the experience better/safer/less hassle, but I don't believe you need them to get started.

Mick..

Thanks for the suggestions lads, I think the bike will come first over trick bits and personal comfort, I'll be at the back of the pack in the novice group for many many trips, but over the coming months and years I'll more than likely sway towards personal comfort.. and Gopro's im buying a replacement battery and things tomorrow, its all in motion
