Out of interest does it have a little moustache stuck on the front?

That idle is a little low 1300 +/- 100 is the recommended range if I remember correctly, I have my K5 set around 1400 at the minute.

When you roll off the throttle does it ALWAYS go to the low tick over, or had it occasionally gone to idle at about 3500rpm?

If I'm in neutral it will always go to the same 1100rpm tickover.

Hi Bibio,

Have you had this issue before? I'll get these all checked ASAP. (Oil isn't low, and has never been low while ever owned the bike).

Thanks.

One of the most common causes of these problems, and most overlooked,is the Spark Plug Caps.I'm not saying this is the cause but it's usually one of the last things Biker/Car owners check/change.Like batteries we can't believe they can die<grin>.

If you have access to a digital multi-meter even if you haven't,buy one.It will pay big dividends over the years.

Buy this one,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-Mu...0AAOSwiLdWClJn

Using it's ,"Continuity" setting which has a,"Buzzer" test the spark plug caps.If they don't buzz, you may have a faulty cap.Even if they do buzz the caps should not have a resistance above around 1 ohms or less.As I'm new the the SV650's my old CX500s had resistors in the caps and would read 7k ohms but this was before Spark Plug makers put the resistors in the spark plugs depending on the type of ignition being used(CDI Ignition)

Please advise on the SV650 ignition requirements from those who know more than me as I'm new to the SV family of Motorcycles

PS

I cannot tell you how many times I've helped people fix a really nasty and niggling troubleshooting by just buying some new and decent Spark Plug caps. They can cause all sorts of unearthly problems.
