Sounds good in principle but then the wife would be doing a bushtucker on my nads...
on a lower post someone puts ups paving over tarmac

hows about a single strategically placed paving slab or a small sttepping stone path

serves a dual purpose then you can turn you bike on a slab using the stand and the missus gets a nicer back garden

Its not the size thats the problem...its the surface. It is on a lawn and when it is wet, the rear wheel spins on it and I now have a few ruts in the back lawn and a very unhappy missus and daughter!

You could always just switch the engine off and push it in.

I wish it was that simple...slopes, wet soil/grass, small spaces...makes for a very tricky turn...maybe santa will be kind enough to bring me a lazy parker :P :P :P

Doesn't look like it'd work on anything other than a flat concrete surface... Wee wheels would just sink.

I've done the sidestand spin with smaller bikes, but you'd need to be brave to try it on an SV without knowing what you're doing- I'm too puny to do it with mine, but that sidestand never needs an excuse to fold up at the best of times

I'm afraid I have no ideas other than maybe a temporary surface, say a roll of chicken wire that you could roll out and back? Would protect the grass I think. Or a couple of big boards/metal grilles...
