- Is the spacer sticking in the fork leg? Any notches on the outside stopping it from sliding all the way into the leg? If so, get some medium / fine wet and dry and rub it for 5-10 mins. Should make it slide a bit more freely (it will stick in place when you do the clamp bolts up!)
- Is the speedo drive definitely located correctly? - Try putting the spindle in loosely, leaving the clamp bolts undone, put the calipers on and squeeze the brakes on while the bike's still on the stand. Sometimes sorts out the alignment. - Got anything softer than a screwdriver? Try tapping the spacer a bit harder with a brass drift, or maybe a piece of wood. (With the front wheel off the floor) |
