i suppose no matter where you are in the world ...you should be able to get some type of diesel no matter how crude...so it does make sense..i think

85mpg isnt nothing to write home about really.

Hell, a 50 can return that sort of milage and with a bit of tuning get about 70 out of them....so the boys on my estate think anyway

the army takes petrol with it wherever it takes diesel now. unless on the front line in a war i guess.... in which case a bike would be about as useful as an ash tray on a motorbike.

The Times has an article on diesel-engined bikes. I like the picture of the rider and the pillion very much: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...538739,00.html

Wow, her legs have been extended as part of a US military research program...

I suppose the real downer of a diesel bike would be that you couldn't complain bitterly about diesel spills any more.

There is a Diesel bike in Donington museum. I think its an Ariel or something similar. about 1968 registration

There is also a 2 wheel drive bike with great hydraulic pumps and oil tanks to drive them.

You have to be extra careful when you fuel up though

At least you cant blame us poor old truckers
