I ride home through elephant & Castle, Camberwell Green and up to dulwhich. most nights on the way home. I get two different BMW riders who make me EXTREMELY uncomfortable. one of them with german plates. I think they are rg1200S or something like that? they ride about two feet off my back wheel in a really aggressive style, and then move just outside my left flank when filtering so i can only see them by lifesaver glances. *******s are going to have me off soon...
Yes, other bikers who follow close behind, in your blind spots, are one of my pet hates. Either overtake me, or hang back far enough where I can see you in the mirrors! Sitting in anyone's blindspot for any length of time in stupid. Whilst you obviously have to move through it from time to time, staying in it is asking for trouble. I know all drivers should be aware of this, but:
a) Bikes are less visible, so it's in their own interests to make themselves seen, this doesn't just mean hi-vis clothes/HID headlights- your road positioning is incredibly important.
b) Bikers are supposed to have more road-sense than your average driver.

Sure, everyone should always lifesave before moving, but sometimes, in an emergency, people are lucky to get a glance in the mirrors before swerving within their lane, let alone do a proper "rear observation".

We have a couple of BMW bikes parked PERMANENTLY at work. I
understand the owners' reasoning: they probably don't have garages
so prefer to keep there bikes stored at the university. It is a nice covered
parking lot for motorcycles with security guards patrolling the place.
Still it is not nice in relation to people who commute on bikes every day
and often have difficulty finding a parking spot. And these BMW's
take up so much space!

Don't know whether owning a BMW really changes a person's mentality.
Maybe it is all just a coincidence.
