I only recently adjusted the pre-load after 18 months and the difference in handling is really noticable.

Mind you, I'm a milion miles away from 14 stone!

Im 14 stone, 15 stone in riding gear best get springs to suit your weight try Maxston springs (very helpful) and 15wt oil then change the rear shock. you will be amazed its not just hype like alot of other mods
