I took the footrest hanger off.
Two bolts into the frame, 2 bolts into the m/cylinder, one bolt behind the bracket from the subframe and then just the split pin from the cylinder to the lever.
Easy.
I ended up sitting next to the bike, was more comfortable for my shoulders and meant I could keep a straight line with the saw.

Gotta be a weekend job - surely!

Not enough light by the time I got all the stuff out to do the job.

And the cold beer looked more inviting at that point.

Beer is good, obviously.
Taking the footrest hanger off is less than a 5 minute job.

I gave myself an afternoon and had it all done no probs. Including the new can on, tested sealed gaps etc.

I'm ok at DIY stuff but its the very first time ive ever cut a piece of metal like that. Taking the hanger off as Carsick says is also gonna make it easier.

It took me half an hour to cut through the old pipe, it goes quick once you get through the wall a bit, the about 15 mins to stick the new one on. Whats all this taking the whole thing off and footpegs business?

And Im well know to be completely inept at this and only large enough to handle a junior hacksaw

Buy a decent hacksaw from B&Q for about £7, it takes about 10 minutes with one.
