sorry to hear about you being knocked off roughly from behind by, by all the sounds of it ,a red meat-head. Glad you're ok.

edit. ps. I think if it had been me I'd have had to hit the pillock thereby putting myself at fault too . Fair play for not being aggresive, although his number plate would have been nice to know...ya live and ya learn....

Pleased to hear that it wasn't too serious Helen and that you're not hurt.

PS it weren't me.

Not all red van drivers are idiots like this one [Mr Squid for example] Another example, the red van driver who pulled over to let me in near Old St this evening.

Though I learnt this lesson with white van man. The one that thumped me wasnt the same as the guy that put my bike in the back of his van and took me and the SV home after I came off in Blackwall tunnel.

Depends on the person driving at the end of the day. A morons a moron regardless of colour of van, or in fact vehicle.

Glad YOURE ok. Thats main thing always. Have a bent gear lever if you want it and can find someone to straighten it.

Glad you're OK, Helen.

There are loads of morons around. Just yesterday riding into work
and doing about 60 on a main road I suddenly see a big fancy
Mercedes across my path. It emerged out of a side road to join the
main road in the opposite direction. Fortunately, I started braking
very early, the moment I saw the first glimpse of this Merc: had the
gut feeling that the driver wasn't observing the road. Passing the
Merc I shook my head to show my amazement at the dangerous manoeuvre
to which the reply was an obscene hand gesture masterfully delivered
through the open car window.

THanks all - Lyn, cheers for the offer, but i've already got my paws on a new lever now. Bike will have changeable gears by the end of the weekend!

No - it wasn't a Royal Mail van, but another kind of trade van.
