Maybe because you have to be open minded, not self opinionated

Pot/Kettle?

You're wrong anyway. I did have an open mind about it, I'd never have gone in the first place otherwise.

Best training you can get is to get out there on the road and ride. But you don't really want to be pushing it in the winter anyway, you're best waiting for the nice dry roads in the summer to build up your confidence round the corners.

Books might give you a few pointers, but riding is the only way you'll find out how far you can push your bike before you start to feel uncomfortable.

In this weather I'm still very cautious about how far I lean the bike over anyway, and I don't think I'm alone on that one (at least I hope not )

Most schools and books will come to rest on one huge point - you have to stop looking at the road a few metres in front of your bike and look through the corner. It's hard to stop looking down and look way off to the side where the bend is going, but that'll make a huge difference.

Everything else about cornering is way less important than that - the bike goes where you look. Books, etc. have more detail than that, but that's the key thing.

The main reason I'm going to Ron Haslams Race School over CSS or Suzuki School is they supply the bike at no additional cost. Stack it and walk away. Other places ask you to use your own bike or hire one. £199 for the hire plus £500 crash deposit?

CSS involves quite a bit of cash commitment. If you're just wanting to get a bit more confidence and shown how to corner on the road in every day conditions, safely and under supervision, then I re-iterate that the bikesafe course will really help.

try a search of bikesafe on this forum, there's loads of positive feedback about it and for 30 quid......

it clearly doesn't cater for everyone one, valentino squirrel being one of them!
