Yep, I've got one under the riders seat for my GPS. It was mounted to the inside of the screen on my GSXR.

Same here used one from Maplin when i went on holiday. Unswitched as when you are not on the bike you will probably take the attached item from the bike anyway.

Nippynormans offers this:

Would this work? If it works on the SV it would be good for running a few things at the same time.

Yes that would be useful. However, I had two spare slots in the OEM fusebox so that works for me.

I fitted one of the Maplins jobbies to my Hond@. Although they seem a bit pricey at £7 odd, they are marine spec materials and I think very nice items (not cheap and nasty ).

Definitely supply it via a suitable fuse, the socket is rated at 6 Amps IIRC, I used a 5A slow blow fuse to allow for start up current surge on compressors etc. If there's a spare fuse in the main block then that's ideal.

I wired mine via a switch (toggle with waterproof boot, also from Maplins) from a permanent feed so I can use it to charge stuff without the ignition on. Also useful for a 12Volt tyre compressor (Argos, £12, excellent value), and as mentioned earlier a permanent feed allows you to use it as a connector for an Optimate.

Default As per

Ooops Fitted as standard on the SPRINT ST. I can plug the charger straight in or use it as an alternative power supply for razor, i-pod or GPS
Even heated gloves or body warmer It is fitted just inside the fairing which would be about the meeting point of the fairing and frame on a SV
and as far as I can see it is direct to the battery
I even have a set of plug in jump leads for starting other bikes
This must be one of the best little cheapie mods you can make--Brill and so very useful

It all sounds very good.
I got my self a fused extention cable for it with a 3m cable, a switch and a socket.

My switch isn't water proff, they didn't have any, but i will put it somewhere where water don't really go, like under the fairing or such.

Im not sure how waterproof it is.
It has some sort of rubber cover for it so you can close it when you aren't using it.
Will attach that under the fairing as well so it is as protected as possible.

I suppose it doesn't mather what is plus and what is minus on these things then, when i connect it to the battery as well.

Tomorrow i will aquire a soldering iron and saturday i will go to work on the bike.

Default AS PER

Sorry, but it does matter how it is connected otherwise if you connect something like a battery charger you will blow the charger/battery and possibly destroy the loom I can't remember which is which without looking but it is a standard set-up and I,m sure Mr Squid or Rictus would tell you of the top their heads, give them a PM I'm sure they will assist with the information

Very important----DO NOT WIRE UP WITHOUT CHECKING NEG/POS
