So now it's working can anyone (amarko?) tell me how to make this secure?

P.s. thanks for you help last night amarko
If it makes you feel any better, had a user log a call that her PC won't boot up when she presses the power button.

Walked over there (I don't do hardware calls anymore, but there short handed at the moment). Got there and I take one look and say:

"Yeap you got a fault I would say.."

"See I was right" User proclaims said user to all those in her office (she was a manager, and one of the worst ones!)

"Yeap, it helps if you turn the mains switch on!"

Staff procede to crack up and I smile sweetly and leave, my work done

Cheers

I know the feeling having screaming customers saying the Internet isn't working and what we going to do,

Usually the modem is on standby or its not powered up, but sure is a great feeling when they hang up embarrassed

Default Other side of coin.

Yeah, I know It reckon all outsiders are numpties but we do have genuine problems sometimes.
I had to endure twelve phone calls to BT help in India answering all the same "Is the dsl light on, is the power on" before I got through to somebody who had a clue. They agreed with my Diagnosis that I had noise on the line. Why do I have to put up with people reading script from a screen, when I need assistance ?.
Mind you I do still dine out on my flight to Holland to reset an Emergency stop. I did tell them on the phone what I thought the fault was, but they insisted.
