You can get external "get you home kits", but they really are just to get you home with speed restrictions etc.

+1 to that. I've done over 127(track of course :P ) on self repaired tyres. Been fixing my own for over nine years now and will keep doing so. Like the man says 'your choice'

Cheers

I used to use Ultraseal in mine (coldn't be bothered putting it in this time). It's aved me from a potentialyl disasterous puncture, but also repaired a rear tyre one basically undetectably. As in, at no point since I fitted that tyre did the pressures ever drop more than 1 or 2 PSI at a go. It could haev been there for 5 minutes or for 500 miles, I have no way of knowing, it was only noticed when I had the tyre off to coat the wheels. Got it fixed professionally at the time, no reason not to.

When i was back up North the last time, I picked up a bill for 3 rear tyres in 9 months as none of the bike shops in Inverness were willing to repair punctures on 'safety' grounds......................Twaddle, its pure economics IMHO.

Down here, there is no problem in any way shape or form getting a tyre plugged.
