Very concerning that my 7yo hasn't much idea what a gallon is but she is very happy with litres. Mind, when did you last buy a gallon of anything. She doesn't really know what a yard is (it's the paved bit outside
 ) but is very happy if I say something's a metre long. And as for ounces, well forget it.
