By my reckoning "The Trough" is actually the road heading West from Dunsop bridge that usually has the brew wagon on it, but as everyone has said excelent roads all round the area.

wOw Yeah, like, did Bowland last year, i normally go up the A6 towards Lancaster and then head off over quernmore and head over to Clitheroe way, it is quite invigorating, its actually, during the week, quiet as a mouse, beautiful scenery and well worth stopping off for 1/2 hour rest and contemplate life!! especially if ya on ya own !! One of my favourite runs if im Billy-No-Mates
![]() As per the map above, you really cant get too lost theres always a signpost round the next corner, take it easy, Pheasants, sheep and Deer are predominant species out to frighten the be-jeeeeeeeezus outta ya, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! cheers peeps, ps - Jo, sorry was in Preston today on Bike, didnt have enough time to pop in, will defo catch up sooner rather than later !! |

By the way, I found Trough of Bowland by accident. Follow signs for Beacon Fell and then you should start seeing signs for Trough of Bowland sometime soon, from what I remember. I ended up going for a great little ride all on me lonesome, definitely one to slow down & take in the scenery ![]() |

Was out on the Trough just last weekend and can confirm the roads are ace. Been on it a few times now. Theres a couple of jumps that catch you out and some pretty bumpy bits too, but there are also lots of nice sweepy sections and well paved twisties that make up for it. Enjoy.
