Along similar lines how do they tie your bike down?

Just curious cos I'm going abroad for the first time with the Blade next month and so have never had this dubious pleasure.

Is there anything in particular I should be aware of or make sure they do?
Bearing in mind my bike doesn't have a centrestand either and isn't well endowed in the grabrail stakes!

Is that it!

I s'pose I'd better figure out how to turn my alarm off, or to it's 'it's-OK-to-bump-it-but-not-start-it' option! Otherwise that is going to be echoing about the place deafening everyone!

Now, where did I put that Datatool manual?!

You are right it doesnt look like much, but with it in gear the bike is pretty solid - also Steam Packet Company used long pieces of foam where the rope touched the bike and mine came out unscathed....

K, I asked a similar question on this thread, some useful info there too:

For the datatool if you have a system like mine with a round and an oval button on the remote then you enable the alarm using the round button (or wait 30 seconds for it to autoarm) and then hit the oval button once. Bike makes a lower pitch beep and its all set, won't start but will allow movement.

Oooh, thanks for that (I never can get the search thingy to give me what I want ).

Yup, that's the diddly with the alarm - just found my manual after clearing up half the garage!
I found a 10' x 10' hardwood framed gazeebo there too!

All I need to do now is engineer some way for my Arai helmet bag to be conveniently 'shoulder slung' - or failing that - make a completely new bag/rig for it - possibly involving my Oxford Tailpack too.
I need everything as easy to carry as possible without using my hands.

See if you'd bought a Shoei it would've come with a nice dust bag with long draw strings that you could throw over your shoulder! Never travel without mine.

Nah, I've got one of those left over from an old helmet - the string cuts into your shoulder, it's a pain to balance and just bangs about at the side. Too much hassle and inconvenience for me.

My Oxford tailpack unzips to leave the 'base' on the bike and the bag itself has some fairly comfortable rucksack straps. So I need to either engineer some way of firmly attaching it to the Tailpack/Rucksack in a way that doesn't give me a humpback Igor would be proud of...

... Or a shoulderstrap that leaves it hanging firmly out of the way behind me.

I've seen some nice rucksacks that have a compressable compartment for a full face helmet - but I don't want to ride to Germany and back with something on me - I'd rather it was on the bike. But I've not found any similarly set up luggage.
And to be brutally honest I couldn't really afford it at the moment. This really needs to be a home-made affair.

Any suggestion (that fullfill the above critera) would be welcome though.
