Hope everybody is well. Not been out on the bike much - babies are time consuming! I have seen a couple of SVs - a red pointy in Bangor most nights. Me bro said there was a silver curvy out on a run to Newry from Ards a couple of weeks ago (Leave most dry Sunday morns 8.30am in the square)- any body on here?
Any how hope to get out more before the winter! Good luck to all those who racing. |

Skerries was brilliant as always - the crowd, atmosphere, but most of all the racing was second to none.
Even if people dont have a big interest in road racing they should go just to watch the unmistakeable natural talent of Cameron Donald. His achievements this year over here are tremendous - few can learn a road circuit so quickly - and then to set fastest lap records, and win races, defies belief. The guy has something that cannot be learned - natural ability. I wish him every success and safe racing. (speech over) Having said all of that - i enjoy Raymond Porter pulling it out of the bag too. Ray had a brilliant day at the Bush and throughout the season - a determined and focused rider who deserves every success he has. Kells is the next road race on 23rd July. Definately looking forward to it. On the short circuit scene the next race up here is a National race at Aghadowey 15th July and a Clubmans at Mondello 9th July. The weather is grand for wee evening runs now - have fun y'all and take care... |

Back from Donington yesterday and back into work today.
The race weekend was excellent, brilliant weather (a little too hot a times), brilliant on track action and loads of stuff to buy. Spent Friday in the sun watching all the action from various parts of the circuit.and then perusing the trade stands (me and the brother). Quite a few beers in the evening and decided to go to Castle Donington as I had never been before. 10 - 15 minute walk my ar$e. Got a lift in from a couple of guys in a Transit but had to walk it back. No idea how long it took but it was a hell of a dander. Nothing much there and wished I had stayed in the campsite, but you have to do these things. Saturday we watched the action from Craner curves sheltering from the hot sun behind a Merc van. Once qualy was over it was a case of going round the stands and buying the various bits and pieces we had spotted the previous day. I thought I would spend less this year as there was not much I needed but ended up spending loads. Bought a Rossi print which I am over the moon with, it is him crossing the line at last years Donington race, standing up on the pegs and mimicking playing the violin (now your dancing to my tune). The print looks great and means something as it was a hell of a race and I was there to see it. Went back to the campsite around 4.oo to watch the England match and the Brazil match. I am not really into football but the atmosphere was great, although not so great when England went out. Saturday night was more beer and chat. Sunday I missed the Warm up (too many beers and a lack of sleep) but was in in good time for the start of the races. Sat a Coppice and watched all the action. The Moto GP race was excellent but went in so quick. One minute it was the warm up lap, the next it was 4 laps to go. You just seem to get caught up in the action. Watched the 1st half dozen laps of the 125's and then it was back to the campsite to take the tent down and pack up.Then it was back to the airport to get a taxi to our Hotel. We stayed in the Hilton and enjoyed a hot shower and a nice bite to eat. People we got talking to said that Toby and Julian had been there over the weekend and were great company in the bar in the evenings along with Honda and Ducati team members. The only one we saw was Momola on the Sunday night. Thats about it, up on Monday, had breakfast, went to airport and then home. I took loads of photos but most of them will be rubbish. Who cares, I think its a case of looking at them now and again and reliving the memories of a great weekend. Ah well must get back to the work that pays for these things. ![]() |
