Thanks for the compliments about the pics! Its a CASIO Exilim Z600 camera - recommended, about £150.
Yes, Norway is a great destination for a trip and not expensive IF YOU GO SELF CATERING.
Go from Newcastle to Bergen. Book the ferry early.

Fantastic roads and very little traffic.
Went through plenty of tunnels, longest one was 11km I think. They are long, dark and narrow...not always fun.
The record breaking one is 24km long, but we took the old road over the mountains (Aurlandsvegen?) which was fantastic. Quite often you approach a tunnel and see a sign saying something like "historic road", this is the winding road over the hills that the tunnel replaces. Take it.

I got hold of a laminated map of Central Norway by Berndtson and Berndtson, very tough and waterproof and withstands being stuffed in and out of the map pocket repeatedly. http://borch.com/ but it seems they no longer cover Norway, pity.

Met several bikers who had gone all the way to the North Cape and THEN asked themselves, why?? Its a long long way and nothing but a rip off visitor centre when you get there....

Maybe this thread belongs in Euro Tours?....

Adam.
