Cheers guys all handy stuff. I actually rode a bike very similar (if not the same) the the SV when I was in Oz, was called a Hyusung Comet i think, did the whole of the great ocean road on it, very nice ride (why i chose the sv)

Carrying your shopping in a rucksack is all good untill the ice-cream melts...

My personal choice was to remove the plastic dunlops and fit something stickier!

as soon as i can justify bin'ing my 220's i'll have some decent rubber but at the moment like you say they just dont wear out

Have just replaced my 220's by Z6's. Took me 3 years and 9000 miles to wear the 220's out.

Thats a horrendous figure, I just cant feel safe with a tyre that refuses to give up for that long. I used to get less than 1800 miles at times out of my BT014 on the CBR6.

Yes, I am a tightfisted old git. Would have never parted with the stock
tyres if it weren't for the first MOT.

BTW, congratulations, poisonidea! The first thing you should do is
fit R&G crash bungs. Had mine fitted before the bike was delivered.
