Can't remember the name of the company have the mag at home and will let u know. They are near Sheffield I think

yeah 1k is bit low but if you follow the instructions and you are VERY well informed you might make it.......I know though I'm not hence why I prefer the ready packaged one

I guess the question is 'How much do you love your Dad?'

Me - I'd make the kit car for myself.

Espescially if it was a Cat 7. I've wanted one of those since forever - in yellow and green. Which incidentally is my Dad's fault! He got me watching The Prisoner as a kid and I fell in love with the Lotus Super Seven at the beginning.

I love my dad quiet a lot

I would easily build it for him no questions asked......the only bit that's gonna hurt is that all my savings will dissapear

sell your car, build kit car for weekends and get a cheap run around for the daily grind and for the dog to go in back.

eh! wheres my post gone?

Anyhoo, what i said was, dont think ever of using a caterham type car as daily transport, they are a weekend/occasional car. I would sell the Ibiza, buy a cheaper car, say 2ks worth of something reliable, and build the kit car.

If it were my choice I'd go for either a Caterham 7 or a Westfield, predominantly as they have established groups who can offer help and advice, much like this place I guess. From experience of knowing people who have owned bith, they are nuch higher maintenance than a regular car and a lot more fragile. Fantastic if you have a second means of transport,

I agree...

OMG Cobra's are just the most beautiful cars !!

Good choice on the Caterham 7... they're simple, and the looks don't age... I say keep the KIT car for yourself.

My dads friend has a quantum kit car, very cool, but slightly dated now
