No, It's just an embarrassment. The only anthem I've heard that's worse is the one in Human Traffic, great film but that bit was just excruciating.

It would be better if we resurrected the 6th and 8th verses.

It's about time people got behind what this country stands for and stopped knocking it. Whether YOU like it or not, it's OUR national anthem. Learn it, sing it, be proud of it.... I wish some of bloody sportsmen would... They look like a real bunch of no hopers mumbling the words.

This nation is special because we have a monarchy, because we have history.

Be proud of your flag, and be proud of your anthem.

My point exactly, I want to sing the anthem and feel proud, but I can't put my hand on my heart and sing the praises of that family. That's why I feel we need a change, it has nothing to do with lack of patriotism.

Hmmmm, RSA's 1st away win in a year, 1st against England in 8(?) matches - against the poorest England side for years - doesn't get much to get you cheering does it !! :P

I don't see why 'Land of Hope & Glory' shouldn't be sung before England matches - after all it is used for the Commonwealth Games medal ceremonies is it not ?

I would also have said that 'I Vow To Thee My Country' could be a contender if it hadn't already been *******ized into 'The World In Union'.

As for the British Lions matches - well can anyone think of a better anthem than 'Rule Brittania' ?

A new song, with proud verse mentioning our colonial heritige, racial diversity and current propensity for binge drinking.
