Seriously, I don't keep track but it's way less than everyone thinks. I have a bunch of time in it but I choose to do that and I don't buy the "your time is worth money" argument when it comes to hobbies. As to costs: I got the entire RC 30 swing arm/hub/brake set up for $500. The used MV subframe and tail with all seats, hardware, mounts, lights, wiring, hinges, etc was $500. The Dymags came used from eBay for about 1/2 price. GSX-R front end was pretty cheap, as you know. The exhaust is an M4 header and stock MV mufflers ($250). A friend did the welding. The balance is a TON of time in the composites building. But as I said, I enjoy that. Heck, I sold my first two attempts at this gas tank for over $1000. So while it's not exactly cheap to build one of a kind stuff, I could sell most of the parts for what I have in them and put the SV back to stock. That will likely never happen but... |

![]() quote] And here's the funny part: The MV tail is from a 1999 design and the front (headlights aside) is essentially a replica of the 2005 RC211V - a 'current' Honda design... 'Beauty is in the eye', and all that. Or does that finally drive home the difference between Italian and Japanese design - Timeless vs trend? And it was already yellow. Blue is faster. |
