I went.

It's a cracking bike to look at and I wouldn't mind one in my garage. Alas it'll be a few years yet I think and in any case it's way too powerful for me. But an R6

I wasn't all that impressed with it, not a great deal of difference to the 06 model, having said that the rear end is lovely, but they've gone and spoiled it by giving twin underseat exhausts with orrible tacky plastic gaurds which stick out a mile, should've (IMO) either gone down the R6 route and gone for the stubby option or even better gone for the Single port outlet like the new blade.
Fussy git

And if i had of won it i woulda chopped it in for summat else

I don't like the way they have ditched the bit of plastic between the headlights and the front air intakes. Makes the bike look like it has giant eyes! I like the 04-05 R1s, but for my money, the best looking still has to be the 03 in black and grey.

Yeah. The R6 is very nice. They were both at the Bike Show in NYC there over the weekend.
The R6 feels very roomy. More so than the big GSX-R. The R1 looked the part I suppose.
However... there was a Ducati 1098 just across the way.

Ehh. I think partial eclipse begins to cover it. RAAARR also.

I was in Collin Collins in Harrow and all I got for my trouble is a R1 neck lanyard thing, plus a DVD I'll never watch. Agree on the exhausts, the underseat isn't right, the R6 looks much nicer, even last year's R1s that they are selling off cheap looked better.
