I know it's an easy fix but surely after 8 years in production Suzuki should have sorted it. That said, quite a few on here suffer with it, lots have never had a problem despite not taking preventative measures.

Oh, I totally agree there... They've tried to fix it, just that it didn't work, which is no better- just shows they know there's a problem. And Cagiva use a different plug boot on the Raptors to prevent it. But, I wouldn't let it spoil my experience of the bike when a couple of quid totally fixes it.

Don't get me wrong, it's close and I am annoyed at myself for thinking "K6, be fine" but I'm just slightly more ****ed off with Suzuki for pushing a product that doesn't work!

I'll get an extenda - even though I am a total tart and want my machine to look just the way I want - and I'll get over it but I've slept on it and I'm still seething.

And it might take you 10 minutes. £3 and 30 seconds but (as Jim@55 will confirm) I am totally crap.

Hey, maybe that's what I'm really angry about?

Naah.

You won't get far...

about a dozen of us wrote to Suzuki UK in early 2004 about the problem that affected the then new and revised K3 model.

I think the response, for those lucky enough to get one, was that this problem had been addressed on the new model!

I've done a lot of riding in the wet, and touch wood, it's only happened to me once. However, we all know it does happen, so good luck!

I would totally agree with the comments on here about 'just do it'.

The minor change to the looks of the bike are not important when you consider the possible consequences of the cylinder cutting out (and more importantly in my case 'back in') at the wrong time. I got four pins in my wrist and a fracture in my vertebrae last year after I failed to install one purely because it hadn't happened to my bike after two years of riding and I thought it would be OK.

Get it done and ride with confidence.
