Does yours have the 17.5 or 15 pilot jets? If it's got the 17.5 as in the UK bike, that's probably too many turns on the af screws, I reckon...

I think i have DJ138 mains not sure tough. We put the biggest mains that there were in a kit. But DJ contents was not same as in the US models. There are DJ132, DJ134, DJ136 and i think DJ138.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering about... UK and French models get bigger pilots as stock, (17.5, I think) while US, Canada and some others get smaller ones... So you need to be careful what instructions you follow. Did your standard needles have slots?

![]() Also if we are to say the information on the link jussi posted regards flow rates for the different filter is correct then probably safe to say your mains are defintely too large. If I were you I'll check as Northy says and also do this *2.5 turns on the sf screws *You may or maynot want to raise the needle again going from the information on the link. Possible Raise needle (maybe)a notch or half a notch using the Dynojet washers in the kit. Stick the 138 Mains. *Get a Dynojet run to check the A/F ratio and make sure you get the relevant printout. The place should be able to tell you where it's lean or rich etc. In anycase I'm sure you'll find help here or elsewhere to interprete the graph. You should only need the one run which would put you in the right direction. Then maybe carbs need to be out again and that should be it. Not looking to win races like ![]() FWIW, I've just stuck a Renegade Race can on my bike and it runs great*. I think it's a waste of money(in a lot of cases) to be honest buying a jet kit for a just a race can or/and street filter. Cheers Ben *Don't tell the Pointy rider who ownd me the other day though ![]() EDIT:Which BMC filter have you got exactly. Street or Race |

I think mine is running rich - one of my plugs is sooty, the other is clean. Its probably due to putting the k&n and scorp can on, removing the snorkel etc. Is there anyway i can sort this out?

Everything you describe there would make it lean, not rich...

The flow rates for the BMC and stock filters in Mick's re-jetting notes are correct as they have been checked with a flow rate machine he rigged up.
With the BMC street filter put the stock mains back in, at most you'd go 1 size bigger. You've got to get the mains right before fiddling with needle positions etc. I'd suggest returning the jetting to stock and take it for one dyno run with an exhaust gas analyzer. That will give you what info you need. Check out the graph Jussi put up ad compare that to your A/F readout and adjust needle position or jets etc. Aust also runs with the 17.5 pilots, 2.5 turns out should be right. |

Yep, his list fits with my experience too- though he missed out the BMC Race RS which would sit between pods and the BMC Race.
