I'm so glad I'm not starting out with house-prices as they are, I couldn't afford a shoe box in Cardiff these days. There will come a point when the market says "enough is enough" but that point is a long way off yet if this months figures are anything to go by.

The only way to do it is to buy the best property you can afford on a straight "repayment mortgage" and be prepared to move up the ladder every two or three years for the next 15, using the equity in the property as deposit for the next, better place. Not my idea of fun.

I pity my kids should things be the same in 20 years time. I'm almost tempted to buy something for them now and rent it out.

i think ive herd of a tv programme tonight with trevor macdonald which is on tonight about the florida price crash where brits have got on the property ladder in florida and am now in the p@@.
