Right top advice eveyone - THANKS.

I have just got back from about a 25 miles round trip with her, taking it quite easy, so I didn't scare her and gave myself time to adjust.

I have to confess I really enjoyed myself and I think (secretly) she did too. Might have to invest in a cheap helmet for her as the one she used was too big.

Thanks agaian all for the advice.

Might leave the seat on for a while and the cowl in the garage!

Has your mrs got a cheap head??
i can easily say that £30 does not get you a safe lid, i had a nitro for £40, brand new i hit the deck quite softly and it almost craked in half, the very least i would pay now is about £120 she will need boots, gloves, and a lid at least, besides it gives you an excuse to get her all in leather lol,
thats my expierence on it anyhow.

Its better if she decides how shes going to hold. On let her make the choice. If shes not comfortable or doesnt feel secure, she wont relax and you dont want a tense nervous pillion. Also dont lean down in front of her, as she'll cop a lot of wind blast in the face and unless shes expecting it it'll move her backwards on the seat and it can be un-nerving.

Best way to avoid clashing lids, is to ride smoothly, Gentle with the throttle and brakes, take a little more time over each gear change and you'll both get on just fine.

cant help having images of the AR06 and Northwind onthe back of you fizz... whilst coolgirl rode his... that wwas a scream.. like a rodeo

No offence taken at all, but just to clear up a couple of things: i've taken the grab rail off so she doesn't have a choice regarding gear changes, it's going to be the low gear changes that are the most violent (not the right word) into 2nd and 3rd so shouldm't be much wind blast yet, but I will bear it in mind thanks.
I know smoothly does it but there's just no way you can change gear with the rider being able to anticipate it and the pillion not anticipating it while still enjoying the motorcycle for what it is - Fast!.

Actually Northy was a good pillion, he sat dead still like a bag of spuds and didnt move a muscle.

Seriously.

Don't ever let anyone ride (pillion or otherwise) yours or any other bike (if you can help it) without properly fitting gear. A helmet that doesn't fit properly doesn't do it's job properly.

If you want to buy a cheap lid for her, that's your call, finances etc. I certainly know I wouldn't. I'd rather not take a pillion than have them wearing cheap gear.

Anyhow, glad you liked the ride, just please, don't do it again unless you BOTH have proper gear on.
