I know its not Pythagoras but without the laws of physics, ie centrifugal and centripetal force, gravity etc all worked out by those mathematicians at Suzuki the SV wouldnt be as much fun...

We have 'laws', for example the Frank(-)Starling law of the heart.
I'd never thought about it much before, until I read this. See, educative...sort of...

Actually, I used to work for a company that manufactured Short Wave Antenna systems. One day I was asked by another sales guy (far more experienced than I was) "how much room do you need for one of these ? pointing at a long wire antenna.

Me: Do you know how tall the mast is ?

Him: Yes.

Me: Well then, Pythag will tell you the answer...

Him: What, you're talking b****cks...

So I did the maths in front of him and the Technical Director, he wasn't impressed but the Tech Dir was....

Proof - it can have an "everyday" use

I used to sit in maths and think when am i ever gonna need all this..
but yea- you do use it every day.. .. in some form or another..,,,

but- you never look at your watch to just know the time....

you always do a calculation to work out how much time you have left.!!!..
