The king of clean can't get glue off . Come on Kwak - WD40 does seem to work pretty well on that. Parafin too is fine.

Cheers,

Garry

Peel off the clear layer on top of the sticker, then moisten a rag with some petrol, and gently rub and the sticker you'll see the lettering begin to come away, keep rubbing, gently and make sure the rag stays moist.

After a few minutes the lablel will go soft and then you can peel it away, once you've got it off, WD40 or some more petrol will clean off the gluey gum thats left behind.

Make sure you bike is cold before you do this, you dont want petrol dripping onto hot engine parts now do you.

Thinners should also get the glue residue off (it worked well when i took the badges off my car).

Hope that helps!
Fool!

You could always slap a sticker over it.

Note to hairdryer wielding types: Remember that it's the petrol tank you're heating up under that sticker! Don't try this with a full to the brim tank of fuel.

How very strange, mine were easy to get off (on a 3 year old bike when I got it!). The one on the tank, I peeled off, it left some crap, I polished it off (the rubbing it with a cloth and polish works fine for removing that). On the other one, again peeled it off, but I think I used glass cleaner (which I normally use on the screen, lights, etc - was just around) and that cleaned it off fine. There might be a slight discolouration remaining but I can't remember off the top of my head. Certainly not noticeable unless you're looking for it!

Ive done this on both my SV and my GSX.

Definitive answer as works ever time.

1. Heat with hair dryer, but not too warm or the sticker itself will strech and split off in bits. (jst warm enough to soften the glue)

2. start in a corner and lift to the other corner then pull off ever so slowly heating up the parts of the stick as you go (remember not too warm.

3. Once the stickers are of wipe the excess residue off with methalated spirits.(It disintergrates the glue and has no effect on you paint)

4. Wipe off with wet cloth after as meths it highly flamable.

5. Job done.
