Default Re: New one in the face of MicroSoft

I too thought a lot of the high end Integrity stuff was related to the HARD inititive from Oracle.

We run 90% of our serious databases on Oracle but on Solaris and linux with EMC hardware, Veritas clusters etc. But we are increasingly seeing software designed purely for sqlserver, a number of potential suppliers have taken the we only do business on windows and we then seriously question their competence to architect mission critical apps.

I think core oracle database technology will remain for the windoze platform, but will cease to evolve for this non stop mission critical market on platforms such as windozes
