My hubby used to ride behind me when I first passed my test, but he used to get incredibly frustrated and worried. But at least I bought a little old tatty Guzzi V50 to learn on! I didnt even realise I was slowing down so ridiculously for bends and roundabouts.
Then one day we had a humungous row because he couldnt take it anymore ![]() ![]() |

Whos to say that it wasnt the husband at the back and the missus flying ahead?
Obviously sounds like a new rider either way, or someone who very rarely rides. I would say in any circumstance that theyre riding the wrong bike for the level of experience or confidence. |

![]() I remembe being a new rider and riding out with a group of lads who invited me along and then proceeded to show of by thrashing the nuts off their bikes and leaving me for dust. I initally tried to keep up and scared myself silly, nearly losing it on a corner, blowing my nerve and ending up riding the rest of the route pretty much the way as described. I did get my own back in the long run though! We were all new once, and we all learn our limits, sometimes the scary way! |

At the moment Im a bit like that as the rear shock on My 2000 is cream crackered and cant be relied upon at the best of times, cant wait to fit the replacement so i can at least I can corner again

In terms of the lines you describe, when mentioning the 2nd corner as 'too far on the outside and almost gets wiped out by a lorry' it is obvious that this is a left-hander. Similarly, the mention of the gutter on the first corner suggests a right-hander. These lines are broadly similar (though I don't know quite how far she was pushing it of course) to IAM lines so it isn't necessarily the case that she was new. A couple riding together suggests, in the main, an older age group; they tend to be married for one, able to afford nice new bikes, and the nearly matching number plates and kit adds some weight to this. So...middle-aged ish couple would be prime candidates for IAM. I've been on a couple of rides with a certain group of them, even when my SV was 33bhp restricted and I was far more capable than a handful of the riders I saw, similar upright straight-line types. Just saying don't rule it out as a possibility, though it's an even more depressing endictment if that's the case ![]() |

Shouldn't that be "cos you're foreign"?
