Insurance can be easily sorted out nowadays, you don't need to arrange it a week in advance, it can be done over the phone hours before you actually need it.
No offence MiniMatt.

Have to disagree there. I got my K6 delivered to my door 2 weeks before I'd passed my test. Tax disc & everything supplied, except the numberplate. I wasn't allowed my numberplate because I didn't have a licence. They aren't the hardest things to buy in a hurry.

A long whilst back now, my car was in for repairs under warranty, the sales people dealing with the warranty didn't want to let me have a curtosey car, but agreed under the proviso that I insure it myself, not on their insurance. Fine by me if it keeps me on the road. Walked outside, got on my phone, explained the situation to the insurance company and they asked for a couple of details (registration number, modifications to car etc etc). I asked how much & when I could drive it? Free of charge due to circumstances (warranty issue) and so long as I had the keys, I could drive away as soon as I hung up!

Insurance is so simple to sort out that it's stupid. Driving without insurance is bad enough. A biker without insurance is suicidal IMO. We're vulnerable enough.

I vote to get the numpty off the road permanently. In fact, find him, pin him down & I'll happily shoot the idiot!

Chuckle, as the guy was wheeling my new toy out from the shop his last words to me were "You've ridden a bike before right?". And that was that

Got to report itif he said he didn't have insurance. Although it will be down to the witness giving a statement, stating that the bike made contact with the car for it to go any further unless your wife can give evidence that she felt contact. Lets get these no insurance people off the road and disqualified. Car or bike they're all costing us an extra £30 or so on our policies!
