Best thing for me, as I am useless at navigation.
BTW thought I would post just for the sake of posting! |

For general day-to-day driving/riding, no - you don't ever NEED one...
However my Sat. Nav. in my car has managed to take me to a farmers track where a friend lived, to several cities around the country, helped me find roughly 7 different routes between Leicester and Bolton (a journey I do often and now don't get bored as I take a different route each time) and also got me to Amsterdam and back! Now I could've just map read to do all that - but it allows you to: - Enjoy the drive without worrying too much about where you're going. - Allows you do be more aware of what's infront of you as you're not faffing around with maps. - Get into the car with only a postcode, street name and house number and arrive within 25 yards of the house! |

Great for planning ride outs. I do a fair bit of traveling, I tend to try a different rideout every time i go out. It makes it more enjoyable to not have to pull over, and watch constantly for signs. I echo the comments about city riding too - absolute godsend. I just wish i could afford one rather than follow mates with them! I still sit at home mulling over maps the night before - it doesn't remove any of the fun!

You might as well say mobile phones are not required as you can just make do with landlines.
Sat nav is the future. ![]() |

Finding customer addresses... It's a Godsend !
I no longer have to look at dodgy 2 year old local maps for business parks that were built since the map was printed... Get the address, check on Autoroute/Googlemaps etc exactly where, bang it into the Navman and hey presto, it takes me there.... It's great at finding specific places in the Alps etc too. Make sure you don't miss those famous roads... . |

Ah....but if you only made one wrong turn 20 miles back then it would be easy to go back to where you started

Just borrowed one toady for our trip in America on the Harley. Don't know ehre to get an American map for it for a reasonable price though. It's a Garmin nuvi 300. Gonna try it out at work in the meantime. I always though they weren't worth it but I'll get to see now.
