I've had one of these for a year, though it just gathers dust in the garage now. I dont find it lacking in anything really, so long as I keep off the motorway. Aparrantly there is a great deal of tricking up you can do.

I really like the KTM, but everytime I mention it people suck their teeth and say "Ask Cloggsy."

Now I'm not saying that what happened to you was right, coz it wasn't, but one bad experience does not a s***e bike make...

After all the wanting to try one - I finally sat on 2 yesterday.

.....and I think that the only other bike that I can realistically ride would be the GSXR600 as neither of the supermoto's fitted me.

The DRZ400 was far too high although when I sat on it came down a bit, but I still could barely reach the floor on tip-toes.

Then I tried a Yamaha XT660x after I finally got my leg over (oh er) my legs just dangled and it wasn't the most comfy of seat either - far too wide.

So I'm going to forget the supermoto thing now.

With deserved sympathy due, I do not feel that Cloggsy's unfortunate experience should be the reason to discount KTM if that is what you fancy. Anyone can have a problematic experience no matter what the make of bike.

KTM are massive sellers around the world and their reputation grows by the day for producing excellent machines. They have massive expansion plans and this can only be good to see another european bike factory making an impact.

it does feel very high when you first sit on it, but it honestly isn't an issue when riding for me, coming to traffic lights or similar meant i had to think about putting ym foot down, but after 10 minutes it was ok - did you take it for a test drive, if not you may want to just give it a go

Clive, 400cc is better than no CC's at all

And yes they do look like fun. For me, it's whether my legs would stretch, not the bank balance

I'm going to start a new action group... "SSA" "Supermoto's for Short 4rses"

I've got a drz sm and at 5 foot 5, the bike height has never been an issue.

Having said that I no longer ride it, it sits in the corner quietly slurping from its optimate. If anyone gets round to wanting one, give me a call.

I may be 5ft 10, but I have the legs of a pygmy......

Seriously, I don't feel comfortable on any bike with a seat height greater than 820mm, so seeing as all the SM's are 870 plus, I have no chance.
