I am currently undergoing a similar thing. Even more inconvenient, as it's a PA system and if it doesn't arrive in time a gig may well have to be pulled, so there are financial implications, as well as the cost of the rig itself. £10 charge if you want to pay via payal too, which I didn't think sellers were allowed to do anymore.

Also, after I've ordered I'm told there may be a delay in shipping as they are moving warehouses. It also appears they have changed the listing to reflect this, after I bought it to make it look like I knew all along! The 'text' concerned is actually a .jpg which is hosted on their own site (and hence they can change it). Now, I'm not sure, but I imagine that usually ebay freeze a listing once it's sold. I suspect what they've done here is change the .jpg to this new text (which definately wasn't there before as me and the friend I am going halves with both double checked the listing before ordering) on their site, but from ebay's POV, the listing is unchanged as the image still links to the same place.

To top it all off there's the usual "phone number that doesn't actually work". You'd hope with 98.5%+ positive feedback they'd be okay, but it seems not to be the case.

When moped shopping, I won the auction for a TZR50. Wayhey! Van rented? Check. Of to Tubridge Wells. You can probably guess the rest - the bike was far from it's desciption as immaculate, had a dry, rusty chain, fairings that had scuffs so bad if you held the bike to the light you'd see through it.
"Not as described mate, see ya."
Git gave me nagative feedback in text speak. Later that day, bought the last officially imported bike and a year and a half later I sold it with positive feedback.

My other half won a bid for Dainese leathers on eBAY... the guy took 3 weeks to ship them..ignoring all emails and his mobile number not working! Finally gave proof of posting.. Goods have never arrived... He is £200.00 out of pocket as the seller is the only one who claim claim from the parcel people and he isnt bothering... PayPal and eBay do not seem to have teeth in this situation! Personally i have only bought goods of very small value from eBay

Tim - They state in their listing that they have a domestic handling time of 1 day - this is all the ammo you should need to be able to get a full refund as they have not honoured the details of their listing.
Also it appears they have since pulled the listing precisely because they don't have the stock available.

Ceri - Again, check if they state a handling time in their listing.
Also, double check any links that are in the listing, if they lead back to a commercial site then that's grounds for reporting the listing/seller to ebay for it to be pulled.
And yeah - sellers are not allowed to charge specifically for a customer using Paypal - report them.

Dappy - was the item paid for via Paypal? If so you probably have fairly good grounds for claiming a refund.
Also you can report an item as 'Not Received' - check where the listing is displayed in 'My Ebay' and there should be an option to do this. I think it then leads on to how to claim a refund from a seller (though I'm not sure as I've never had to actually do that).

Hope that helps some and I'm not teaching anyone to sucks eggs or anything.

After all - sucking raw eggs is actually really quite disgusting - I don't know why anyone would actually want to learn how.

Just adding to what K already said very well, except for the sucking raw eggs, that was just grosse, me eating my breakfast and all anyway I thought it would at least be a boiled egg you suck on?
Anyway, if you are claiming a refund make sure you claim through paypal as if you jump through all the hoops properly and don't miss any deadlines, then you pretty much just get all your money back. But if you haven't used paypal then ebay is pretty toothless in getting your money back.

Got my refund, a moan because I left him neg feedback.

If people are to run a business based on eBay, they should run by the same rules that Joe Public use. You only sell what you actually have.

Yes, one email I sent to a seller who sold goods they didn't have before went along the lines of, "This is supposed to be an ebay store. You know, like a shop on the highstreet? I see something I want, I pay you the money, I get the goods. It's not a futures stock market where I'm paying the right to buy something further down the line."
