Thats not the lines, they just need bleeding. You'll be amazed how much difference it makes when done properly.

Interesting that about the brakes, I was thinking that there would be some slight differences all right.

I have put a Matris kit in the forks and am going to put some sort of decent rear shock in the back, but if the brake setup that you have would fit a k5/6 pointy I'd be interested all right.

If not of course, any idea where I would start to look at what brakes would be compatible?

Similarly, Lozzo, if your brake upgrade works, will you post back / let me know what you had to do?

Cheers

L.

Measure the distance between the mounting holes for your calipers.
Have a look here too:

Slightly more to it than that though, since the caliper also has to align right on the discs. The GSXR750 4-pots is a tried and tested solution (also, as Lozzo says, works with the 6s but I don't like 'em) with the bracketry. Total waste of effort on standard forks though, in fact £100 improving the forks will stop you faster than £100 spent on the brakes, from standard.

I liked EBC HH for the SV calipers, but the best mod I ever did with that setup was an R6 master cylinder- really worked well for me. Tried it with the GSXR 4-pots and liked it there, but it suited the SV parts very well indeed. No point in replacing nearly-new lines with stainless IMO, better things to spend on.

Indeed. I also had to do this on my B6.

Also have to agree with Northwind's statement. The bracket would be complicated to make, as you'd need to integrate the correct spacing needed in to it.

Braided lines, and better pads do work wonders, as will better suspension components.

Most emphatically YES - to the state of your wallet. I'd hazard a guess that the only rubber hoses even remotely available are the OEM parts. You can pay a quarter of the OEM price for Goodridge braided hoses.

I'm sure somebody will correct me but they say that after 3 years the OE rubber hoses need replacing.
