This country is just rubbish at weather, no matter what type of weather our infrastructure just cannot cope.

Possible the most depressing thing I have ever read. Even more depressing is that you are right!!

Only passed my test a couple of weeks ago, but on my first day (Doing my CBT) got caught out in a hail storm with thunder and lightning in the distance on the A38. Ended up following the tire track of a Land Rover as it was the only bit of non standing water on the road!! My instructor informed me afterwards it was easily the worst weather he had ever rode through. Hopefully I can look back in 30 years time and be able to say the same thing.

I got caught out in that mental hailstorm the other day too

Those mahoosive hailstones really hurt...to the point where I was actually laughing (dunno why, maybe it was because I had gone beyond feeling helpless!).

Stopped laughing when I remembered I had machine washed my textile jacket and it had lost ALL of it's waterproofing The Sainsbury's checkout girl commented on the hordes of people huddling under cover outside and how "at least you are dressed for it"...how little she knew

too couldn't stop laughing - I guess it is just the realisation that you're not just a bit damp you are soaked through and nowhere near home!!I even laughed histerically when a lorry on the other side of the road went through a massive puddle and a wave came up in slow motion at me and absolutely drenched me.......It is one of the only times I wished to be in my car. Car drivers could also be seen sniggering.....
