Sky Broadband is sh*te.
You will have no end of problems, the customer service is non existent.
Basically, they can't cope with the demand.

I agree with Sky's customer service they are rubbish one of the worst i have had to deal with just lately to be honest, so unhelpful. but the actual product so far (touches wood) is pretty good.

I've FINALLY got the Sky mid package and pay £5 a month. I think its something like 8Mb speed and 40gb limit. I don't download much so this is enough for me and so far so good. Took a while to set up because apparently there was a fault with the exchange in my area.

Customer service- depends who you speak with. Some know what they are on about and the rest are just c**p

I have the same problem having just moved into a brand new house. If BT connect your line then you have to have a 12 month contract with them, I've found that Vodafone do broadband, free calls and line rental for £25 a month (they will connect the line for you too, or get BT to connect it for them). Could be worth a look?

Have had no issues with it.
£10 will get you up to 16mb speeds and unlimited downloads 'subject to fair user policy'

Just a word of warning on this, I chose the 2mb option on our package purely because when I ran a line test our line was only capable of doing up to 2.5mb therefore going above to 8 or 16 would be pointless as its not supported. I suggest you check what speed is available to you by doing a quick check with BT on their site, just punch in your phone number and it will tell you.

Saying that 2mb is ideal for surfing and small downloads which I do at home, any downloads can be done at work via there sizeable connection, the perks of working for a hosting company

Yer Steve H, the customer service could be an issue but fingers crossed we never have to cross the bridge!

I've got the mid package for a fiver, similar to Falc I was going to go for the unlimited download but could only get ~6 meg with the test.
Modem occaisionally spaz's out but after the usual 'turn it off, turn it on' works fine.

Oh yeah, I've had it since the beginning of the year without any problems.

i pay 19.99 but thats for 8meg with free anytime phone calls.
