Yeah - a lot of them cater for builders, etc working in Cardiff on the many construction projects. Prob not what you want.

Cathedral Road is very pleasant and hotels will be more in keeping with what you're used to

Have you tried Churchill's Hotel?

Do not, under any circumstances, book into the Wynford Hotel....... their night-club is known locally as "The Parachute Club" for reasons that you will guess

Looks like everywhere is booked up, Newport Road would be preferable to Newport (I think).

Thanks Tel, I forgot to say I need a double room. They don't have any doubles or twins those dates....
