Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
If I'm going down to cornwall I'll stick my baffle in, and tell them to eff off.
Which is a shame, because that was going to be my next sort of long trip..guess I wont. To Cheddar Gorge instead. |

Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
Me and a friend did a tour of Devon & Cornwall last year and my old G-Force can was unbaffled and really needed repacking. Even i was getting sick of how loud it was.
Never had a problem, in fact cant remember seeing a cop at all.

Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
Must admit, i had been riding around on a VN800 with straight through exhausts, never stopped once for the noise in 2 years. It's just the usual scare crap that comes out every summer.

Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
Recently saw a US version of cops with cameras type of program. The copper pulled over a chopper with an unbaffled exhaust. The rider argued that it is safer to be noiser so that other road users are made aware of his presence. The copper argued that there is a decibel limit so that horns can be heard when honked by and for all road users in the vicinity. Hadn't thought of that til I saw the program.

Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
I have a nautilus on mine too, however am seriously considering putting my baffle back in as my new stubby exhaust is starting to get on my nerves now

Re: Exhaust and Number Plates - Police view
I've bought a new exhaust 'cos my slightly short CC is tooooo loud for me.
You just can't hear the horn over it, so it must be unsafe too! Pete
