And why is that do you think?

Some people think Thatcher was a great leader, other think Bliar. Fewer think Brown or Major. I don't think a universal great leader exists. Churchill was a great wartime leader (1st and 2nd by the way) but he had serious flaws too. What makes the talented and visionary leader you desire?

Churchill was a mould breaker,a free thinker and the right man for the job at the right time.He was also a Tory (by that time)but that makes no difference to a true original thinker who has the skills needed. He galvanised the nation to a task that had to be done and despite a chequered history of failure he got it right.
You could argue that we need something similar now to lead us away from a failing ecomomic model that cant deliver in future towards something that works.Just carrying on as before will only lead to ecomomic collapse here as the Indians and Chinese take over.Ecomomic collapse wouldnt be that much different to Hitler marching up Whitehall would have been.

so let me get this straight (im new to this english politics stuff)
when i vote a say i want A to run the country
and say 55% of the rest of the country want A also
this does not mean A will run the country even though most want A to do it
or if i vote A and 30% also want A and 30% want B
A and B can join together to run the country so C with 40% doesnt
man life is sooooo much easier back in NI

Dunno why you find this weird. It's not the English election (although devolution is making it increasingly that way) and back in NI you would be voting for Westminster MPs too.

yes but first half dont take there seats in westminister and never did, second policies as such did not exist, it was simply pro united with violence/ pro united without violence / pro GB with violence /pro GB without violence
hence why there are next to no lab/con/lib ministers in NI

Carefully considering before replying:

It's particularly rude that you consider me unable to estimate the circumstance for myself and that the only way I could have made such a suggestion is that I 'parrot' someone else's feeling. Perhaps I'll not bother reading any more posts by you - would the Daily Mirror be a reasonable substitute for your mindset? Newspaper of your choice make your opinions for you? No? But you consider something you disagree with evidence of something similar in me.

If you don't like what I have to say perhaps you ought to find a counter argument rather than just dismissing what I say with a clumsy and amateurish attempt at superiority, you clearly are so much more aware than I.

I previously had some respect for your viewpoint - one ill thought out comment has ably dismissed that entirely.

Which is something personally I wouldnt want.

I have been reading the stuff about a hung parliment and what that might mean. I dislike intensley the idea of Mr Brown continuing to be PM.

I liked Nick Clegg in the TV debate the other night, but I am not so sure that I like some of the Lib Dem policy that I read in their manifesto.

I find myself thinking that more of what David Cameron says does actually make sense, but I am not so sure I like the idea of him being prime minister. I find his manner slight slimey and I dont know that I trust him.

I am not sure a hung parliment will get anybody anywhere as it might just well continue the spate of in fighting and bickering rather than trying to sort out the mess that Labour and Gordon Brown have got us into.

A hung parliment would also (probably) mean going through all this again in a year or two.
