Re: Vintage film cameras
Need to get my thumb out and shift a few things. Got the EK8 sitting here waiting for the right time, Lubitel to clean up, Bessa the same, K2 to check again but probably nothing I can do with it, BX20 to try to figure out but no idea what's up. I have some keepers that need to be made to work too! Flash sync to fix on my Pentax MX, think I have narrowed it down to the switch but not gone back to it yet. As you can probably guess I've shifted a couple more things and am getting the bug to purge the house! Purge it! Begone, useless carp!

Re: Vintage film cameras
I will get round to messing up your purge at some point and send the Certo and Bessa up. If you need to junk the K1000 then feel free, doubt there is anything useful on it. In the 1990 version of Memphis Belle, the radio op has a box brownie of some sort. Anyone good enough to figure out which one?
Wooo, 200 pages!!!

Re: Vintage film cameras
Pants, forgot about that! Yes it would be good for plenty of parts, meant to have a go at unjamming it first.
Done some googling but I can't find out about Memphis Belle, have you got a screen shot? There are loads of Brownies! Apparently on a B17 the radio operator was also the designated photographer, I found out that much. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just scroll down a bit. Have the film somewhere so will try for better shots.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Had a vintage Gevaert Gevabox arrive today with three unexpected rolls of 1999 expired 120 film. £4.99 plus post.

Re: Vintage film cameras
If my memory is correct, doesn't he use the camera in Memphis Belle to take a pic of another plane? It might be clearer in that scene but I can't remember where it is.
Off work for the next week and a half so will try to finish off a couple more half used films. I'm also going to reskin the XD5 to cover the back door hinge and see if that cuts out the light leak. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
While googling I also read the camera is used for some indoor picture(s), which without a flash and ISO 50-100 film isn't going to happen. It was in the factual inaccuracies bit of somewhere.
Good score Kenzie! My new camera bag has finally dried out and holds tons of stuff. Simple pleasures. On the down side I've found out you can't end an ebay listing with less than 12 hours remaining. Oops. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, he uses it in the barracks as well while Jack is shaving. I seem to have a habit of buying cameras I see in movies. The 120 film is Konica VX 100. Why oops Johnny?

Re: Vintage film cameras
My ebay faux pas. It was just a few quid for some baby sunglasses I happened to sell at the school gate. Then the ebay bidding started on them as well and I didn't realise. That's how I found out you can't end a listing at the last minute!
Kenzie 361715075537 includes a working one or maybe two, they're M42 I think? |
